The Youngsters

Pedrito, Muniesa, Thiago, Xavi Torres, Jeffren, Victor Sanchez...

Who do you see as making it? i.e., becoming strongest XI material?

Of all those my two strongest bets would go to Pedrito and Muniesa. Two excellent players with a hell of a career ahead of them.

how about you?

thaigo has the qualities to make it and be the next big thing. out of the players you listed hes probably the most talented too. the player he most resembles is deco. he has the deco like swagger 8) , the calmness on the ball despite the attention of his marker, as like deco he likes to bait his marker into making fouls against him.

when watching him for spains u17s in last years european championship, he was probably spains most outstanding player; the player who made them tick - the go to guy. MVP!

I agree witih Xenmate, Muniesa and Pedro are on their way. Xavi Torres has potential as well. His passing is excellent...

Jeffren has impressed me every time hes played, and Pedro always looks lively. Also Pedro is one of the few strait swaps for Messi we have.

Muniesa is surely going to become the next Puyol. A Pique-Muniesa partnership would be amazing in a few years.

Victor Sanchez's passing has generally impressed me, but his pace and stamina are suspect. Doesn't help he gets plays in defense, which IMO is not his strong point. He should be a solid sub for that Xavi playmaker role.
I'll give you a memorable quote after you pass me that beer and shot.

From what I've seen it has to be Muniesa who has the best chance. I also really like Pedro personally, he has a ton of skill and ambition. He always looks lively and willing to attack defenders, almost to a fault. I look for both those players to compete for a place in the first team in the coming years.

Thiago rejected Chelsea offer

Asked about the future of Barcelona Atlètic attacking midfielder and Spanish youth international Thiago Alcántara (18), the player's father Mazinho has said in an interview with Catalan radio station Ona FM that the player has no intention to leave:

"We still didn't sign a professional contract but there's a lot of chance we will be able to sign one. We're calm. Myself, Barcelona and the boy are happy here and we're surely continue here for a long time.

When Thiago turned sixteen, he received a serious offer from Chelsea but it didn't interest us because Barcelona always works very well with the youth. I don't have any doubts that he won't leave. Rafa, the little one, is also being followed by a lot of foreign clubs but we're happy at Barça and they're happy with us.

Rafa might be a more complete player from a coaches' point of view because he's tactically very disciplined. He fulfills what the coach is asking him. Thiago, who is technically very good and has more self-belief, sometimes wants to do a little too much. I think it's a player who can make it and who has everything to play at whatever team.

I'm very happy that my son isn't compared with me, the former world champion. Because normally people tend to make comparisons with the fathers. I don't like it but it's normal. But Thiago Alcántara has come this far because he's Thiago, not because he's the son of Mazinho. I think that's clear for everyone."

Why Xavi Torres? He was a bit ordinary when he played in the first team I thought...

Only basing this one one match mind...

I thought his passing was great and he showed some good strength on the ball. I don't have much to go on either though...we'll see more this weekend.

Dos Santos? Are you serious? I don't know what Gai is like, but according to people who have followed him, he seems to be great.
