They're the dark horse. They topped their group ahead of Holland and there's nothing to stop them doing it again with everyone looking the other 3 teams..

As i am Romanian, i have to emphasize some points:

1. Danut Coman (GK) was injured and replaced by Eduard Stancioiu from CFR Cluj; Ovidiu Petre (DM) was also injured and replaced by Cristea from Dinamo Bucharest;
2. Victor Piturca (coach) moulded his tactics to the characteristics of the players. His football philosophy is similar to the traditional Italian one, that is to build up good defensive positions, soak up pressure and surprise the opponents via counter-attacks. Considering the wealth of talent displayed by the other teams in the group, he will probably field two defensive midfielders in Mirel Radoi/ Paul Codrea and Cristi Chivu in front of four defenders Contra/Sapunaru, Tamas, Radu Stefan (very solid defender playing for Lazio) and Razvan Rat.
3. Our main offensive weapon is, of course, Adrian Mutu, who can act as a playmaker as well as a finisher. However, the likes of Daniel Niculae, Ciprian Marica, Nicolae Dica or Ciprian Marica should not be neglected

Dica scored a hattrick vs. Monte Negro. Hope you beat the French!

Actually, he only scored 2 goals...very nice goals indeed! :D

If we can at least draw with France, we have a chance to qualify...i'm not putting any hope in getting something from Italy as we seem to have a bad mojo with them, but we can definitely beat Holland if we play our cards right.

Unfortunately, we lacked attacking intent. I was really satisfied with the defensive dispaly though...hope we can clinch a win in the remaining two games.

If Netherlands beat France today, Romania is in good position to take second place, because Nether will play reserves.

edit: Grats to Romania.

Had Italy on the ropes and let them off the hook! Still a good result...I'd love to see them advance and leave France and Italy behind.
