Didier Drogba

Sport.es says he is our third option if we can't land Benzema or Ribery(?).

Benzema is one thing but Ribery? Last time I checked, that guy was a winger/AMF.

as wingers: Messi and Ribery. I think that doesn't look bad at all... Still need a central striker...

Drogy could move to Italy with Mourinho.

You're the one who probably isn't making any sense  Drogba is great, but he is 30. Benzema has as much potential as him if not more and is 10 years younger. You don't need rocket science calculations to figure it out.

Drogy still has a good 3 years in his veins to play some fantastic football, is just he might be a little too physical for La Liga in my opinion.

Apparently we are negotiating with Drogba. He wants 3 year contract, whereas we offer 2+1

But the straight Eto for Drogba swap has been rejected. I am afraid we are going to overpay again if we can make some sort of deal go through...

Drogba is a year removed from his best season, and he has shown nothing to make me believe he can get back to that peak. I can't understand why Barca believes he would be suitable replacement for Eto'o.

For me he's problably the only attacker out there who can replace etoo considered we will keep playing 4-3-3 which it looks like.

If sammy is going I would like Drogba to be his replacement. We dont need a long term solution. We got Bojan!

Despite Drogba's age he would/will be a monster in La Liga.... This man and I mean man, can handle a cross, and after being used to the defenders in the EPL, the Liga defenders are going to seem like pushovers in the strength department, speed is not his game obviously but he has enough speed for what we need, as a target man he is tops.... if Horseface Ruud can excell, Didier will dominate, with Alves, Messi, Iniesta, Bojan, opening up space for him then teams will either have to single man mark Leo, or Alves or Drogba.... that would be suicide for them..... I love Sammy and hope there is a way for him to stay, but it seems we have alienated him beyond repair, and if that is the case then this is the only truly proven striker that I believe can replace him, and in fact add another dimension to our game....... I hope to God we get him......

I agree that Drogba is one of the strongest strikers available. And maybe his disappointing past season was the result of losing Mourinho as his manager, as well as being tired from playing at the ACN. He is someone who would benefit from a club change.

Not to come off as a complete flip-flop, but if Drogba is to replace Eto'o, the transfer fee has to reflect Drogba's age. And if the choice is between Dimitar Berbatov and Drogba, then I'd go with the latter without hesitation.
