Worlds Best Manager

What's he done wrong this time?

Worlds Best Manager

Postby Dino » Tue Nov 14, 2006 1:11 am

Who is it? Obvious choice would be Guus Hiddink.

As for Worlds best young manager, here´s some news:
English World Soccer recently announced its choices: Slaven Bilic and Carlos Dunga
I can say few things about Bilic- apart from the fact that he was a great player he is a great person. One of the rare footballers that finished college, speaks 4 languages, has his own band in which he plays the guitar. And to top it all a modest guy. Who knows, maybe some time a Barca manager.

One of the best is Fergie.

Frank Rijkaard will be one in the next two to three years or so.

Bilic made Blanc miss the World Cup final

For me it's Stevie King. Legend.

Brian Clough..

Took Nottingham Forest from 2nd Division to promotion into the Premiership, won it, then the year after won European cup, and won European cup again the year after... also a few FA Cup wins.

Only downside is they got relegated awhile later... but nonetheless.

Guus Hiddink I think is the best but I like Frank, Juande Ramos, Houllier, Scolari and Beenhaker. Cruyff also a legend but retired.

I say Clough but he sadly isn't around thus not active.

Active: Alex Ferguson; He took a 'KIDS' to the very top and won it all on a consistent basis.

Capello is a good manger but he demands loads of cash at every job, Scolari is also good but I guess as a 'Coach'.

Hiddink is also another one.

Van Gaal deserves a mention...

Capello's never done anything extraordinary and won't go down in history for any reason.

Johan Cruyff would be one of the best.

Rinus Michels, Brian Clough......

There are many, very hard to choose just one.

Sir Alex has taken a Man Utd from sleeping giant and turned them into the 2nd richest club in the world, he has won a ridiculous amount of trophies and dont forget his achievements at Aberdeen.

Capello has had sucess undoubtabely but i feel Fergie has achieved more! And Fergie does it with more style!

Bishop: Now this week as we all know is Sir Alex's 20 years in charge of Manchester United. 20 years, quite an achievement. He did in 20 years what Rafa Benitez did in 1 year, but lets not take anything away from Sir Alex, 20 yrs is quite an achievement.

Back in the days before the Premier League, to win the European Cup you had to win every single game. Not come second, lose a few and become champions, but you had to win every single game. Bob Paisly did that 3 times in 9 years. Sir Alex has only done it once in 20 years. So to win 3 European Cup's, Fergie will have to be at United for another 60 years. That'll make him older than Gandalf!

Rafa Benitez had the luck required to win a European Cup when it had deserted Alex Ferguson for a long time. Benitez is shown up as clueless and below-par when it comes to the acid test of the league.
