8 Barca directors resign, Laporta stays

What's he done wrong this time?

CA explained on my site that basically Laporta already knows he's out of the job (which will be confirmed in that vote by the Socis in the next assembly) so Soriano, Ingla and all the people who have resigned have done so in order to prepare for the new elections whilst at the same time, trying to make it look as if they are distancing themselves from Laporta in a bid to win the support of those who want Laporta out.

I have returned here to try and clear a few points. the result of the vote are now insignificant. what ever anyone thinks it doesnt matter. the reality is this..

the main players have now resigned and despite popular belief this may work out for the better. when the assembly gather the chances are Laporta will be forced to resign. What we have now is a situation where the main players in the board can regroup and form the new nucleus of a board ready to walk in and take us to the new level.

those that resigned today are major players in the Barca board over the last few years and have a lot to offer in the future so dont be too quick to shoot them down.

Laprota in my mind has worked wonders since the opening of the meeting on tuesday night at 10pm and continued his efforts throught to 2pm today. for that alone we should be happy he still had the benefit of the club at heart.

Surely at least some positive is we can continue in the transfer market until at least the start of the season, when the window shuts anyway.

Although would the unrest then, get to the players at all?

What were the roles of the members who stood down?

Sorry but this is not really that way. The situation is very unclear now, since nobody is sure which socis ( 4190 will be called and will have a right to vote)will be called for the assembley. This is an assembly of socis compromisaris, which means that only a part of socis will be called to this votation Of the 4000 called no more than 700 usually attend. So that means that 700 socis will decide teh future of the club) It normally never decides about the contniung of a president ( its a reunion with selected socis to explain the situation of the club in general terms, but Laporta has decided to put his continuation in the hands of this assembly. Its the first time in history of Barça that an assembly of socis compromisaris will decide about something like that. About 4000 socis, but only those decided but the board after a lottery process. That is the problem, that after the Mocio de Censura where much more people ( every soci) had the right to give his opinion and 60% of socis that voted wanted Laporta to resign, now he wants less than 5000 to decide again in 2 months, instead of leaving now and making the way clear for a new election that brings social peace and stability.
"“¿Por qué harás caso de lo que digan 500 compromisarios y no haces caso de lo que han dicho 24.000?”, fue una de las preguntas que tuvo que escuchar Laporta en la junta." ( a directors claim in the last junta. LAporta was told why he would put his future again in the hands of 500 socis that will attend the junta general de compromisaris instead of listening to the 24.000 that told him last sunday to leave.)

You can imagine everyone expects Laporta to have something prepared to get a positive vote and go till 2010. Remember Ingla is out now, he was responsible of the signings. The club is an absolute mess, its really a catastrophe and no one is sure that Laporta will resign in September.

Laporta performs wonders? I supose your tone is ironic heheheh. But yes he has done the wonder to put all the media , 90% of socis and 14 of his 18 original board members agaisnt him. Thats a kinf of miracle, true.
