Seriously though, Ashton (who is a starter for west Ham  ) would be perfect for a player to come off the bench when we needed a little more of a physical presense in matches.

He was not a starter: http://www.whufc.com/page/PlayerProfile ... 15,00.html

And never a good player. If you want a player with a good physic there is a lot of other good ones.

He is a starter but was injured for most of the start of the campaign. Get your facts right.

Haha sorry to say mate, but you're not right. Ashton was injured in 06-07 and came back to the preseason 07-08 in a game the 14/7 2007..

I have checked all the match reports from last season on WH official website to prove I'm right. You can check if you want.
He started on the bench the first 3 games in the PL. His stats in PL is 20 times as a starter, 5 times not in the squad and 12 times starting on the bench. That's not a regular in my book.

In late january and first in february he was on the bench two games in a row.. Against Man Utd and Arsenal!!!!
He may have had some few, not serious problems which made him miss a game or two along the season but that is it..

So I'm still wrong?? looking forward to hear from you ;)

He missed most of the preseason of last season, hence he didn't start all the games. He was injured for part of last year and that is why he was out of the squad (including a couple of suspensions).

Starting 20 out of 38 games is a starter in my book.

Right back at you ToreH!

Hehe okay;)

But I guess we just different opinions about when you're a starter! But starting 20 out of 38, that's almost only 50 % of the PL games. Without having serious injuries.. Well I wouldn't say, but then again it's a subjective thing.. But no matter what he don't have the quality I think. And I watch A LOT of PL, so have seen him a couple of times

Thanks for the discussion;)

Back to Drogba, who by the way I really want us to sign in case Sammy is going

Yeah.. Don't understand why Chelsea wont let him go. Of course he's world class, but still they have so many attackers considered they only play with one in the center. And they wont let any of the others go as well. Some thing with the midfield and Lampard. Apparently Scolari wants a lot of players this year.

They have a lot of strikers, but none of them got Drogba's level. His class.

Can they get one as good as him if they sell? I doubt it.

Exactly! I don't understand their strategy!! If they really wanted to they could buy David Villa

Scolari plays with one striker, I doubt he´d go for midget. I think they set their sights on Torres
